
Apparently because a $3.3 billion endowment isn't enough, Rice University has received a $20 million gift from an anonymous donor to build the university's studies in the humanities. The gift helps set off an $80 million campaign to fund to make Rice's School of Humanities among the nation's best.
According to the Chronicle, Dean of Humanities Gary Wihl said the money will be used to fund four chaired professorships, or four "superstars" in the humanities, as well as to attract graduate students.
