Deadline today to vote for MLS name

010606_soccerball.jpgRemember, today's your last chance to name Houston's new soccer team. To cast your vote, visit the MLS "Name the Team Sweepstakes" page and pick which of the 13 names you like best — unfortunately, still no place for a write-in.

We just noticed that there's no real correlation between our votes and what the team ends up being called:

Entrants shall vote for their favorite team name; however, final selection of official team name shall be determined by Sponsor and MLS in their sole discretion.

So it might be Houston Republic FC after all. Ah well. Remember to cast your vote by 4 p.m. today.
