Another big top comes to Houston

Puzzled over the ren-fest-like tent on the corner of Richmond and Post Oak? Speculate no more--it's the future home of Cavalia, a celebration of the "horse-man bond," produced by the same man that brought us the creepy er, "artistic," Cirque Du Soleil.

In other words, it's a Quebecois rodeo.

Except, instead of barrel races and bronco riding, Cavalia promises "hynoptic dreamscapes" and "incredible flights," in which "two gentle riders are lifted from their horses into the air above" where "perhaps they are none other than angels keeping watch..."

Call us staid, but Houstonist will just wait for the Livestock Show, thanks.

But for those of you eager to enter this "world of fantasy," shows run from January 24 to February 5, with tickets ranging from $29 (children) to $175 (adult).
