We've been framed!

Houstonist had its own personal run-in with the law recently. The crime: license plate frame violation. Now we prepare to say goodbye to $200. Ouch! At least we know that HPD is trying to reverse its financial woes with more speed traps around town (we won't discuss the speeding ticket we received).

We did some research on this law, and here’s what we found. The law seems to be open to interpretation. The photo above shows a violation, but even if the frame just barely touches the tip of the word "Texas," you can be fined.

We understand why the law is needed, plus, most of the frames are just pathetic. In the meantime, we'll take care of our ticket and take off the useless dealership frame. Have any other readers been framed?
