For the past two years, we’ve learned to avoid the southwest freeway inside the loop at all costs. That’s especially true this weekend: TxDOT is closing the freeway, between 288 and Weslayan, beginning at 9 p.m. tonight through 5 a.m. Monday. Montrose, between Richmond and Banks, will also be closed.
This is all due to the demolishing and rebuilding of the Montrose bridge. Ah, yes, we’ll all have matching arches on 59 soon! In the meantime, if you’re headed downtown (or Lakewood Church, that traffic should be a mess) this weekend, you may want to check the freeway conditions before you take your alternate route.
