An armed robbery is bad enough as it is, but things really suck when the robbers throw your baby down the stairs. That's what happened early this morning in northwest Houston when three men tried to rob a Katrina evacuee of his FEMA money.
Three men showed up at Christopher Joseph Norris's apartment on West Tidwell shortly after midnight; one of them pulled out a pistol and demanded Norris's money. The gunman "told Norris to go to an upstairs bedroom, tossed his daughter down the stairs and hit Norris with the pistol," according to the Chronicle. Norris managed to wrestle the gun away from the man and shoot him, and the other two would-be robbers fled the scene. The 12-month-old baby suffered wounds in the fall, but KPRC reports she wasn't seriously injured.
Police are still looking for the pair, both of whom Norris reportedly knew from middle school in New Orleans.
