A good six years

060130-brazosart.jpgHoustonist was sad to learn that Brazos Projects will be shutting down this week after a six year stint showcasing great art and architecture. Located next to the Brazos Bookstore (one of the best independent bookstores in town, in our humble opinion), the gallery is scheduled to close for good tomorrow.

You still have a day left to catch their last exhibit, Twenty-Five Years of Rockefeller’s. For those of you who don’t remember (shame on you), Rockefeller’s was one of the premier music venues in Houston until it closed and re-opened as a private-party dining hall. The exhibit showcases photos and other memorabilia from such performers as Ray Charles, Ella Fitzgerald, Roy Orbison, and even the Dixie Chicks.

At least we still have the bookstore.

Brazos Projects is located at 2425 Bissonnet.
