A new teacher at MacArthur High School resigned after putting tape over a student's mouth and around his wrists, the Chronicle reports:
The 15-year-old student was not injured in the incident, which happened during a Jan. 25 science class. The student was joking around and had placed a sticky note over his own mouth before the teacher taped the student's mouth and wrist, said Leticia Fehling, a spokeswoman for the Aldine district. The boy reported the incident to school administration and the teacher resigned the same afternoon, Fehling said.
"This is definitely something we don't condone teachers to do," she said.
It's hard to imagine how this went down: The student was clowning around and put a Post-It over his mouth, so the teacher decided it would be better to actually bind the student with tape? That used to happen to Houstonist all the time in high school, but we never thought to complain. Kids are just so sensitive these days.
