More evidence that Metro is trying to kill us all: There were two accidents involving Metro buses yesterday, one in which a bus hit a pedestrian downtown and another where several people were injured in a bus-car crash.
The incident downtown happened Monday afternoon as a man jaywalked across Milam near Pierce. He stepped out in front of a bus making a left turn and then, rather than getting out of the way, he just stood there and thought about things:
“He had reaction time. He had time to get out of the way,” said Al Whitehead, a witness. “He just stood there like he wanted to get hit.”
The man was taken to Hermann Hospital and the bus driver wasn't ticketed. Then, around midnight, a Metro bus and a car collided in northeast Houston when the car ran a red light and hit the bus. The driver of the car had to be removed from the vehicle; he, the bus driver and three passengers were taken to the hospital. Yeah, these accidents both seem to have been the victims' faults, but don't be fooled: Metro is putting buses in positions where they'll cause accidents, just like it did with the MetroRail. Beware!
