Attention all you smug receptionists, sitting behind your desks listening to Sunny and playing solitaire: You may not be as safe as you thought. Just ask the woman working the reception desk at an H&R Block at Ella and 18th, who was pinned behind her desk when a car crashed through the front of the office this morning.
Police told KPRC Local 2 that a customer driving a Crown Victoria hit the gas instead of the brake, causing the car to crash through the business. The accident pinned the receptionist behind her desk. She was taken to Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital with minor injuries.
Authorities have not said if the driver would be ticketed.
The H&R Block manager told KHOU that the driver was trying to inch closer to the storefront so she could read the location's hours when she accidentally hit the gas and drove through the glass wall. KHOU has raw video from the scene.
