Somehow we missed the story of the carnival ride that got stuck at the Rodeo, trapping some kids at the top of a roller coaster — which is one of those irrational concerns that's always in the back of Houstonist's mind when we're riding a coaster.

The ride got stuck at about 11 p.m., and several children were confined to the top of the ride for nearly an hour, Local 2 reported from Reliant Park.

One official said, "This type of thing happens very rarely and the children were never in any danger."

It's kind of like the fear of getting stuck at the top of a Ferris wheel as a tornado approaches. That kind of thing. Other people worry about that, right?
