Interior decorating may save your life

030706_dumptruck.jpgGiven the way things seem to be going around town, you might want to give serious consideration to moving your bed away from an exterior wall soon. Yesterday we heard news of the Missouri City man who ran his car through a bedroom wall, killing the couple sleeping inside, and today there's the story of a runaway dump truck that nearly killed a woman in bed in her apartment.

Two men were working on the dumptruck's electrical system at about 9:30 last night when a short caused the truck to start moving. It rolled right through the side of a unit at the Fairfield Trails apartments on Westbrae Parkway in southwest Houston, knocking the resident out of her bed. Fortunately for the woman, she'd just rearranged her room, moving her bed to the far wall, and firefighters said that's what saved her live.

The resident and both men were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
