Jailer puts teen nephew in cell with murder suspect

Last month, jail guard James Pruitt took his 13-year-old nephew to the jail to show him what happens to people who break the law. Investigators say Pruitt threw the child in a jail cell with capital murder suspect James Cutsinger. The child was only in there for a minute, but investigators say it's still against the department's policy.

"I take full responsibility for what I've done, you know," said Pruitt. "I'll apologize profusely to them."

Galveston County Sherriff Capt. Joseph Gregory said Pruitt's actions were "totally against policy and procedure." Officials are deciding whether (or how) they'll reprimand Pruitt; in the meantime, he's still working at the jail.
