Katy Freeway chaos is getting to be a weekly ritual: This weekend, you can expect yet more delays on the west side. It hurts so good.
- Alternate lanes of the westbound freeway will be closed between Washington Avenue and the West Loop, as will the ramps from I-10 westbound to the West Loop, from 9 p.m. today until 9 p.m. Saturday. To go north on the West Loop, exit Washington, turn right and take Old Katy Road to the West Loop frontage road. To go south on the Loop, exit Wirt and U-turn to access the Katy Freeway eastbound to the 610 exit.
- The ramp from the West Loop northbound to the Katy Freeway westbound will be closed from 9 p.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday. Use Westheimer or San Felipe as alternate routes.
- Old Katy Road will be closed in both directions between North Post Oak and the Loop between 12:01 a.m. Sunday and 5 a.m. Monday.
- Alternate lanes of the Katy Freeway westbound will be closed between Kirkwood and Gessner between 9 p.m. today and 5 a.m. Monday, including entrance and exit ramps along that stretch and the ramp from I-10 eastbound to Beltway 8. Detour: Exit Bunker Hill, U-turn and use the westbound ramps to access the Beltway.
Most of the detours and closures will allow crews to divert traffic to new pavement and ramps. For more current updates and closure information, visit katyfreeway.org or call 281.589.5924.
