There's a warm place in Houstonist's heart for man's best friend. We wish all Houston-area animals had a home of their own, but unfortunately, they don't. Houstonist wants to change that, which is why we're diving into the files of the Houston SPCA to bring you our Pet of the Week.

Carla is a 1-year-old Rottweiler/German Shepherd mix. She has a lot of energy, loves to play, and is the perfect size to cuddle up with, HSPCA members say.
