Your niches, Houston: horses, cowboy boots, music and more

houston330.jpgOne thing we love about Houston is the wide array of interests Houstonians harbor. One need only to browse Houston-area blogs to see what subjects the city's citizens deem worthy. Don't have time to sludge through the Internet mire. Don't worry, we've got that covered. Here are just a few of our strange Houston favorites:

The Mane Stuff features information and links about, you guessed it, horses.

In Hoofbeats, blogger Lynda Polk writes short stories about her horses, Starman and Marker, on her northwest Houston stables.

So maybe Jennifer June of Dimlights isn't a Houstonian, but her affinity for cowboy boots (much like our own) brought her to Houston recently, so she is an honorary citizen.

Luke Gilman's blog is all about graphic design and photography and many other nerdy pursuits that we secretly find endearing. Plus he has great taste in music.

Maybe we don't exactly understand why our dear city has a place on a top walking cities list, but one resident is going the extra mile to extol the virtues of running in his blog, Houston Running.
