Original, maybe, but bad taste

060331-virgin mary.jpgYesterday, four arrests were made in a large drug smuggling scheme. One of those arrests was in Houston, the other three in New York. This ring used tombstones featuring the likeness of the Virgin Mary to smuggle hundreds of pounds of cocaine from Mexico to the U.S.

"Like grave robbers who have no respect for the dead, this drug organization used revered tombstones to smuggle millions of dollars worth of cocaine into New York City," said John Gilbride, the special agent in charge of the New York DEA office.

We also learned that the DEA recently arrested another group of drug smugglers that were surgically inserting drugs into puppies for transportation. That’s just not right!

Well, if religion is the opiate of the masses, there's a pleasing sort of symmetry to this.

Well, it's not that original. If people have been watching Lost for the past season, Mary seems like a perfectly logical place to hide drugs.
