Ah yes, I've swerved and barely survived many a debris on the road from the innocuous plastic bag to paint cans and loveseats on the road. I can handle the tire blow-out debris, but a loveseat? How on earth is a society to function like this? Seriously, I think us Houstonians should all recieve a medal. Or at least a t-shirt that says "I survived 59" or 10, or 45, or 290...depending on your commute.

I've lived and driven in many places, and have never seen the sheer volume of crap rolling around the road and flying off of trucks that I see here in Houston. As for the law on uncovered loads, well, when I regularly see city vehicles (like public works trucks) spewing crap (dirt, gravel, etc.) out the back, I don't have high hopes for anyone bothering to enforce it.
