Mystery cash found in local men's truck

042006_money.jpgSo here's a life lesson from today's news: If you're ever cruising through Pennsylvania carrying $500,000 in a duffel bag, don't try to enter a nuclear power plant. A couple of Houston men found that out the hard way Tuesday afternoon when they were on their way into the Beaver Valley Nuclear Power Station in Shippingport, Penn., to pick up a tool container. Security guards did a routine search of their truck and found a duffel bag, which they opened and found the half-mil in $10, $20, $50 and $100 bills.

The men denied owning the money, and Pennsylvania state police confiscated the money because there was some evidence of drug residue on the bills. Police didn't find any drugs or other illegal items in the truck, and the two men were not charged with a crime.
