Conroe police have arrested a cross-dresser and two accomplices in connection with a string of thefts and robberies. No, really.
The crime spree began April 14 when someone stole candy and some other stuff from a Conroe store. Later that day, someone stole clothes from a different store, and later in the week three women reported someone had stolen their purses while they were doing their laundry at a washateria. In all the cases, the victims gave the same description of the thief: a tall, slender black man with a unique tattoo who seemed to be a cross-dresser (seemed to be?). The suspect reportedly became bolder in his later crimes, sometimes using pepper spray to disorient his victims — as if his hairy legs in a miniskirt weren't distracting enough.
On Saturday, police stopped the three suspects after investigating a purse theft at another washateria. They found the victim's property and a container of pepper spray in the suspects' car, and the victim was able to identify the cross-dressing suspect, Kristian Rashaud Harris. He was arrested and charged with theft; the two women, April Lynn Hubbard and Kete Williams, were arrested on outstanding warrants.
