Houstonist remembers high school dances as half-empty bastions of freshman awkwardness featuring acne and glittery eyeshadow. Apparently, things have changed since Houstonist left the hallowed halls of secondary education--at least at Madison High, where HPD's vice unit is investigating allegations of improper conduct at a school sponsored event. KHOU reported on Monday that students on the tape were having sex, but don’t get your hopes up: They declined to buy a copy of the DVD.
It’s possible, according to the Chronicle, that all there is on the tape is a little dirty dancing, but HISD’s police have already reassigned the principal responsible for the Valentine‘s dance where the alleged violation took place, student favorite Gloria Legington.
Legington, known for her efforts to reach out to dropouts in her troubled region of HISD, isn’t out of a job yet, though. HISD spokesman Terry Abbott says that the reassignment is standard procedure pending the outcome of the district’s investigation, and commented that "[HISD has] not characterized the contents of tape other than to say it contained potentially inappropriate behavior.”
Tuesday, KHOU reported that the people on the tape are actually adults, one of whom attends Prarie View A&M. What they were doing at a high school dance, nobody's quite sure, but perhaps they did it all for the nookie?
