Houstonist is giving away a pair of passes to the Sinus Show's Flashdance tomorrow night at the Alamo Drafthouse ... read on for more info.
OK, it's time to be serious with yourself. Is there anything better than Flashdance, the 1983 film classic about a welder/exotic dancer who longs to get into ballet school? There's only one thing we can think of: making fun of Flashdance. (We bet you thought the answer was gonna be Footloose, right? Sorry.)
Indulge your lust for really bad '80s dance movies and improv entertainment Thursday when Austin's Mr. Sinus Theater Sinus Show comes to the Alamo Drafthouse at West Oaks. If you've seen the Sinus guys before, you know what to expect — if you haven't, definitely go. Unless, of course, you're an easily offended Jennifer Beals fan.
And now for the contest: The folks at the Sinus Show are giving us two passes to tomorrow's show, which we're passing on to you. This is one of those easy contests — no trivia, no lucky numbers, no bizarre rituals. Just e-mail us at houstonistcontest (at) gmail (dot) com by 2 p.m. Thursday (that's tomorrow) and we'll pick the winner at random. Let us know your name and which show you'd like to see, the 7 p.m. or the 9:45 p.m. You'll get two passes to whichever show you choose. Good luck!
(Those of you who don't win, check the Alamo Drafthouse West Oaks webpage to buy tickets in advance.)
