If you'd rather not spend tonight with Howie Mandel on NBC's Deal or No Deal, you could pony up $40 to attend the Houston Texans Annual Awards Dinner held at the JW Marriott.
Sponsored by the Touchdown Club of Houston, the dinner will honor Texas athletes and coaches for their athleticism and sportsmanship. Houston Texans award winners include Domanick Davis as MVP, Jerome Mathis as Rookie of the Year, Dunta Robinson as most-media friendly, and Philip Buchanon for worst tackler. (That last award isn’t real, but shouldn’t it be?) San Diego Charger Keenan McCardell will also be honored as the top player in the NFL who grew up in Greater Houston but is not a Texans award. (No, we did not make this award up.) Other notable winners include area coaches Gary Joseph of Katy and Lydell Wilson of Lamar Consolidated.
