Beautiful female vocals are on tap tonight at Super Happy Fun Land. Seekonk hails from Maine, and at first listen, their atmospheric sound will remind you of Mazzy Star. Houston’s Duck Duck Goose Band is also playing – Elaine Greer’s sweet innocent voice will have you shopping for puppies.

Austin’s I Love You But I’ve Chosen Darkness have been making headway outside the state lately. Their updated 80’s sound is darker than The Killers, but just as catchy. If you can’t catch tonight’s show, take a road trip to Marfa to see them live next week. Any excuse is a good excuse to go to Marfa.

Friday
With a song on an O.C. soundtrack and ravings from critics everywhere, former Frou Frou vocalist Imogen Heap is slowly gaining stardom. Pitchfork said it best: “Imogen Heap nervously flits between these two poles, envisioning a world where Sarah McLachlan, Shirley Manson, and Björk do each other's hair and sing into hairbrushes.”

Singer/songwriter Slaid Cleaves is originally from the northeast, but you can’t tell by his music. He’s pure Americana. The once Kerville Folk Festival champion is touring behind his upcoming album Unsung.
