EV1.Net Art Car Weekend is Here!

art cars 5.12.06.jpg Get your cameras and your lawn chairs to park yourself for the 2006 EV1.net Art Car Parade. This is not just your grandma's Sunday afternoon parade — there are events for everyone all weekend long and it kicks off today with the Main Street Drag. The Main Street Drag will bring over 70 art cars to more than 30,000 people in schools, hospitals, and community centers who might not be able to experience the parade otherwise. It all began in 1988 with 40 cars and a handful of observers is now the world's oldest and largest Art Car parade! The event now features over 250 Art Cars and 200,000 spectators with media from all over the world. With all that, why would you want to miss it?

I think it would be so much fun to build/have and Art Car - how do I participate? Anyone that fills out the entry form and builds an Art Car can roll in the world's oldest and largest Art Car Parade.

I want to sit outside with my four legged friend - is that ok? While the Art Car Parade loves dogs but Rover, Fluffy, and the rest of the dogs in Houston are not allowed, so please give them some alone time at home during Everyones Art Car Parade! You can tell them all about the fun after the parade.

Here's the guide to the weekend - get your own copy so you don't miss a thing! (you might have seen it in the Chronicle)
