Morton's coming to downtown

052206_mortons.jpgHeaded for downtown: another steakhouse Houstonist can't afford. According to the Chronicle, Morton's, the upscale steak chain, will open a restaurant this fall on Main Street. It's likely looking to compete with Vic & Anthony's and Strip House (which is just a couple of blocks from where Morton's will go in, at 1001 McKinney Ave.).

The downtown Morton's will be 8,000 square feet and will include the chain's signature "boardrooms," private dining rooms that should be a hit with the corporate crowd. As for Houstonist, we'll keep getting our cow fix at Lankford's.
