Welcome to Clean City, USA

052406_soap.jpgSo Houston has made the list from another pointless survey, but this time we're actually No. 1 — and it's a good No. 1. Sorta.

The survey, conducted by Verizon Information Services, found that Houston is the cleanest city in America. The cleanest cities list is based on the number of cleaning services advertised on Verizon's SuperPages.com site. Thank God — we were starting to worry this was a scientific survey! If you're curious how other cities ranked, check out the full list: The only other Texas city to make it was Dallas, at No. 8. (Following Houston in the top five were L.A., Manhattan, Chicago and Las Vegas.)

You're wondering how Houston's cleanest city ranking jives with that other study that showed Houston was the dog-poop capital of the country, right? Life is so complex.

wouldn't more cleaning services mean we are technically dirtier than anywhere else?!

I guess they're assuming that the cleaning services actually do something. But yeah, it's kind of odd.
