It’s no secret. Everyone knows how bad traffic sucks in our fair city. Whether you drive from The Woodlands to downtown, from Katy to the Galleria; even just crossing the street can take an hour. Add an accident and you can forget making that Midtown happy hour.
Houston ranks 5th in a recent study of the worst traffic cities, but ranks 15th (Yeah Houston!) with an average commute time of twenty six minutes. Twenty six minutes. Times two…carry the…52 minutes of our day, on average, is wasted in our VW van, inching our way along I-10, to where ever it is that pays us the money to fill
up with gas to do it again the next day. The redundancy is almost too much to bear. So the question to all of you who have actually made it to the office; how do you spend your 26 minutes times two? Better yet, what crazy acts have you caught other Houstonians doing while on there way? We’ve seen the typical “phone talkers,” “radio singers” and “book readers.” We have even seen what could have been the true identity of a “Knitta” knitting her next graffiti.
What about you? If you capture them with a picture, be sure to add it to Houstonist’s Flickr group. It could make a future post.
Happy hunting!
