Cannon shell found in local garage

060706_cannon.jpgWe've all found some unexpected things when we're moving, right? That's what happened to a family in Nassau Bay yesterday, except what they found was a cannon shell. A moving crew found the ammo in the garage of a home on Bal Harbour Drive near NASA Parkway and ordered nearby residents to evacute.

It turns out the shell wasn't live — the previous owner of the house was a war veteran, so neighbors figured he kept the shell for some reason and accidentally left behind. Once the threat was over, neighbors were allowed to return to their houses.
