This just in: Our reputation precedes us

too proud of tx.jpg We admit an embarrassing love for pretty much every Anheuser-Busch ad that has ever graced the airwaves, but our zealous affection for the Real Men of Genius radio ad campaign is nearly indescribable.

If you've never heard Real Men of Genius, a radio announcer and rock singer sardonically "salute" men for their inordinate jobs (Mr. Mannequin Dresser Upper) or philosophical principles (Mr "Kiss Me I'm Irish" Pin Wearer) as cheesy '80s rock serves as the soundtrack in the background.

You can imagine our glee last night when we heard the most recent installment of Real Men of Genius: Mr. Way Too Proud of Texas Guy. We laughed! We cried! We blushed when we realized the commercial was describing our fathers, brothers, neighbors and just about every man we've known in the Lone Star state. Then we scoured the Internet for the mp3 so we could share its hilarity. Unfortunately, we couldn't find it, so please accept our transcribed account of the commercial until we can find an mp3:

Bud Light Presents Real Men of Genius.

Real Men of Genuis

Today we salute you Mr. Way Too Proud of Texas Guy.

Mr. Way Too Proud of Texas Guy!

Men from lesser states might know their state's capital, but you? You know your state's bird, tree and even reptile.

Love that horny toad.

You display your pride with your Lone Star tattoo, "Native Texan" bumper sticker, and contempt for any state that doesn't start with "Tex" and end with "as."

That spells Texas.

Sure, there are 49 other states in the Union, but they are smaller, wussier, and the people talk funny.

Yankee wussies.

So crack open a nice cold Bud Light, oh lover of the Lone Star state. Because all that flag waving must have made you thirsty.
