Flood watch in effect through afternoon

060619-radar.jpgHeavy rain and thunderstorms hit the area overnight, dumping over 6 inches in the south and east sides. Some highways are totally impassable in sections, including 288-North just north of the loop and parts of I-45 and 225 on the southeast side.

Harris and surrounding counties remain under a flash flood watch until 12:15 this afternoon. With a 90% chance of thunderstorms today, and 70% chance tomorrow, relief doesn’t seem to be headed our way for a few more days. Be sure to keep updated with rain totals and bayou levels at the Harris County Office of Emergency Management’s website.

It’s days like this we wish Starbucks delivered.
