Find your muse, draw some nudes at Helios

If you have a yen to make some art and no plans tonight, we suggest stopping by Helios for Painted Tuesdays, a weekly life-drawing session that's open to everyone, whether they're a Rubens or more MOBA material.

If you haven't been to Helios before, you should check it out, figure drawing or not. Located in an old Avondale house, Helios is a local art organization showcasing independent art of all stripes in three performance areas (upstairs, downstairs and outside). You never know what you'll find going on — art exhibits, dance performances, poetry readings, puppet shows, oil wrestling. There are also bars, of the coffee and liquor varieties, to help you awaken your muse. Nude models, live music and drinks — what's not to like? Just remember to bring your own art supplies.

Painted Tuesdays
@ Helios, 411 Westheimer Road
