From the "creepy ex-boyfriend" file comes the story of a Corpus Christi woman who got a severed human finger in the mail from her old flame, who lives in Spring. We'll leave you a moment to process whatever off-color jokes may come to mind.
Finished? Good. The 32-year-old woman had filed for an emergency protective order against her ex last week, and police say he mailed the finger on Friday along with a threatening letter that read in part, "This is my last chance to touch you." Corpus Christi Police Capt. John Houston said it wasn't clear which finger was removed or how, but he said the finger "wasn't mangled" and appeared to have been washed before it was mailed. Police haven't located the ex and didn't release his name.
The man faces Class A misdemeanor charges from a report of family violence between the couple earlier this month and additional charges because of the threatening nature of the letter that accompanied the finger.
