The fires of home

072406_fires.jpgBeing a homeowner can be stressful enough when minor things keep going wrong — so we imagine it would be doubly tough if your house kept burning down like one local house does. The house, at Madrid and Ward streets, caught fire last night while it was being repaired from a fire six months ago.

Investigators said there was no electricity running to the house at the time of the fire, but they said materials being used in the repairs might have caused the blaze (which is why you shouldn't roof your house with flaming shingles). "They had a lot of renovation out here," HFD District Chief Wallace Page said. "We're just not sure [what caused the fire] yet."

No one was injured.
