From Sugarland, Brandon Stanley is making waves outside the region and hoping to be the next heartthrob. His music has the pop/soul feel of Gavin DeGraw. Brandon joins female singer/songwriter Garrison Starr at the Duck tonight.

Born Alecia Moore, she’s now known as Pink. She’s known for her hair, which is also pink (sometimes). She’s also known for her catchy songs, especially the ones she wrote with that Four Non Blondes chick. A good songwriter in his own right, Matt Nathanson, opens.

You know your glory days are over when you have to tour with other bands from your time-period to catch an audience. “One-huge-album” band Hootie & the Blowfish and “one-and-a-half huge singles” band Spin Doctors bring their 90’s rock to the Woodlands tonight.

Saturday
The second best way to sample a band's live performance is from video shot at their concert. However, this amateur video won't give you a view of The Gourds, but it does show what happens when the begin to play Snoop's "Gin & Juice" at a festival.

Last year, Spain Coloured Orange won Best Band in Houston Press’ annual music awards. Houstonist caught them live at the MFAH a couple of weeks ago, and we see why they won. Energetic rock, with horns to get your feet moving. The Minders and The Kingdom join the lineup.
