You there — yeah, you — quit humming the Olympic theme. Houston's dream of luring the 2016 Summer Games is dead, KTRH reports.
Houston and Philadelphia were eliminated from the U.S. Olympic Committee's list of possible host cities today, leaving San Francisco, L.A. and Chicago in the running. But the USOC isn't even sure yet whether it'll bid for the 2016 Olympics; that decision won't be made until later this year. If it does decide to bid, a city will be chosen by the end of March.
According to KTRH, 2016 is seen as America's best chance to host the Summer Olympics in the near future because the International Olympic Committee would like to hold Olympics in Africa and South America in 2020 and 2024.
