Texans Training Camp News Roundup

080106_davis.jpgWith training camp not resuming until Thursday, traditional media outlets and bloggers alike are scrambling to squeeze as much news material out of the initial camp weekend. While we would like to add to that effort and wax poetic about the loss of Demarcus Faggins or the sore knee of Domanick Davis, we're holding off until we can attend a training session in person. To hold you over, here's a roundup of websites with training camp news.

If pretending to have first hand knowledge of last weekend's drills is your goal, then HoustonProFootball.com should be in your starting lineup. The staff at HPF updates the site frequently and provides excellent recaps of team practices. If on the rare occasion you don't find the information you're looking, it'll sometimes slip to their active messageboard, where their Texan Chalk Talk Board rules all.

For a change of pace, try heading to the Texans Chick Fan blog, where blogger Stephanie Stradley dissects the Texans on and off-field moves. Her posts are relatively long for a blog, but are worth the time and provide a unique perspective in the male dominated world of sports-writing.

Lastly, if you’re feeling a bit masochistic, you can try reading John McClain’s Pro Football Blog. While there’s no doubt that McClain’s information is top shelf, he often weaves those nuggets of knowledge with superfluous personal anecdotes which can make reading or listening to the podcast more arduous than it should be.

So what's in your training camp news starting lineup? We always have room for good sports websites, so drop us a comment and let us know.
