We said yesterday we like to think of the downtown skyline as a sculpture garden — but we also know downtown really is a sculpture garden of sorts, with a lot of good public art scattered around. One well-known piece is Jean Dubuffet's Monument au Fantome, which sits outside 1100 Louisiana. The picture captures the soaring elements of the sculpture and its relationship with nearby skyscrapers better than any description can, so we'll just say: Go see it for yourself. It's impossible to get the full effect from your car.
