Time Warner exiting and Comcast entering the Houston market is now official. The planned switch is bringing up more questions from customers.
The most pressing issue is for Time Warner Road Runner internet customers. Those who use “houston.rr.com” will most likely have to change their e-mail address to Comcast’s standard next year. As we all know, changing your e-mail address sometimes means losing touch with people who you haven’t been in contact with in a while. It’s harder to locate someone’s new e-mail address than it is their phone number.
Service and cable channel choices are other issues. J.D. Power and Associates rated Comcast lower than Time Warner on customer service. Channel offerings differ between markets, but we’ve heard that many Comcast markets offer less channels than Time Warner for a higher price.
Pending government approval, Comcast will begin operations in late March 2007.

Less channels and more money? I can't wait!
And it looks like, from the KHOU article linked, Time Warner had a choice to stay in Houston or go with Kansas City and we lost.
Thankfully I'm already in the process of moving most of my email accounts over to gmail.
