Amber Alert Cancelled, But Toddler Still Missing

DanielleJimenez.jpgThe Amber Alert for missing 3 year old Danielle Jiminez, allegedly kidnapped by her father after he stabbed her mother to death on Tuesday, has been cancelled. The girl has not yet been found, but police are actively seeking both the little girl and her father, Leando Jiminez. The body of the girl's mother was found in a Channelview parking lot on Monday, and the case is being handled by Harris County detectives rather than HPD.

Amber Alerts expire after a certain period of time, but are usually renewed. Though the Channel 2 news story emphaiszes that detectives are looking for the father and daughter, other news outlets point out that no reason has been given for the cancellation and promise to update: they seem to want more information.

In the meantime, anyone with info as to the whereabouts of Leandro Jiminez (last seen driving a silver extended cab 2004 Chevy pickup with chrome wheels, license plate TX 9NG H92) and his daughter is asked to contact the Harris County Sheriff's Department at 713.221.6000.
