Unidentified falling objects

081606_falling.jpgIf Houstonist hasn't done anything else to change your life, at least you can admit that we've given you a lot of things to worry about: out-of-control cars, demonic Metro buses, unpredictable roller coasters and people who don't eat meat. And if that wasn't enough, here's one more: random piece of metal falling from the sky. KTRK has the story:

Lynn Moore was parked at a convenience store at the intersection of US 90 and Pitts Road last Thursday when the object came crashing down. There are two small holes in the piece of metal. Moore thinks it was once bolted to something. She says the object hit her van and a truck parked next to her.

Fort Bend County sheriff's deputies filed a report, but there's no word yet what the object might be.

This is similar to a story Channel 13 brought us in June about a piece of metal that fell out of the sky and pierced the bill of a Porter man's baseball cap. In that case, officials agreed the object looked like an airplane part, which makes sense because the man lived pretty close to Bush Intercontinental. But there's no word yet on what narrowly missed Moore.

We're never going outside again, just in case.
