Teatro Multimedia is the product of the second of three workshops held by Talento Billingue de Houston and led by Maria Angeles Romero, one of the most notable performance artists who makes use of her Latino background. Ms. Romero, who holds an MFA in theatre, will make her solo performance debut in Houston in April 2007, but in the meantime come see these works, created under her guidance in her capacity as Artist in Residence for the Talento Billingue de Houston. It'll take place at the TBH Center (333 S. Jensen) at 8 pm, and is free.

The Nova Arts Project takes over Barnevelder Movement Arts Complex (2201 Preston) tonight for a night of three classic Greek plays performed as you've never seen them before. Each of three directors cut one of Sophocles' three "Oedipus" plays to a 30 minute version, and the same cast of 6 actors will perform their roles in all three of the plays. The production's called Oedipus3 and will cost you $10, unless you're a student, then it's $5). 8 pm.

"'Space-cadet rockabilly'", the Press tells us, "is the best way to sum up San Francisco's Phenomenauts", who wil lplay their sci-fi influenced, audience-interactive tunes tonight at 8 pm. $10 gets you in at Walter's on Washington (4215 Washington), which was recently named Best New Club by the Press.

Bestselling Austin thriller-writer Jeff Abbot will sign his latest, Fear, at Murder By the Book (2342 Bissonnet). The book's about Miles Kendrick, a former mobster now in witness protection. Kendrick struggles to overcome post-traumatic stress disorder, which developed after he killed his best friend while assisting the FBI. When his psychologist is killed, Kendrick discovers why: she was involved in the search for a new miracle drug for PTSD. And, of course, he investigates. You can buy the book at the reading, which will be at 6:30 pm

Weird movie alert! Always reliable for these things, the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema (1000 West Oaks Mall) serves up a Japanese cult classic along with its tasty food. Tonight's show is a compilation of highlights from the Japanese TV and video series Gatchaman (read: Pokemon meets Power Rangers meets acid trip). It'll be at 7:30. For free. And there's airconditioning--definitely a plus considering the weather lately.

Come to the Contemporary Arts Museum (5216 Montrose) to hear a free concert by string quartet Musiqa, presented in conjuction with the museum's Kiki Smith exhibit. Bring a pillow for this concert--it'll take place in the loft. 6: 30 pm.
