More flying objects

081706_iron.jpgRemember yesterday when we talked about the woman who nearly got hit by a flying piece of metal? Well, she's not the only one: In Fort Bend County last week, a flying 3.5-pound piece of iron hit a woman's car and damaged another car and the concrete pavement.

It happened at 1902 Highway 90A East in Richmond when the woman, waiting in her car, said her vehicle was hit by a flying object. The object — which turned out to be a 2-by-4-inch piece of iron, dented the two cars and made a one-inch hole in the concrete. A tip led investigators to CJM Trucking & Solis Co. a couple of blocks away, where they found that the chunk of iron was a part from a wood chipper used to mulch brush and limbs.

CJM said it's the first time an accident like that has happened and promised to pay all the damages. No charges will be filed.
