The Gas War is On!

You know that the high gas prices are out of hand when a few stations involved in price wars are selling gas for $2.55 a gallon, and we’re excited about it!

The battle is happening between a Texaco and their neighboring Chevron at F.M. 2920 near Mueschke Road in Harris County. The Texaco station was closed for 2 months for renovations, and when they reopened, in an effort to bring their customers back, decided to sell their gas for the bargain price of $2.55 a gallon. Not one to be outdone, the Chevron station dropped their price, too. And now, the war is on.

Some people are happy about the “low” cost of gas (so low, in fact, that the Texaco said they’re losing money), but others say the cost is still too high. We can’t say we disagree with that sentiment, but with the outrageous gas prices, we’re tempted to make the drive to the ‘burbs to get the cheap(er) gas.
