You, too, can live like Martha

060829_home.jpgIf you have always wanted to live like Martha Stewart (pre- and post-prosecution, of course), here’s your chance. Groundbreaking begins in Katy today at a new community built by KB Homes and Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, Inc.

Sounding more like a wine than a neighborhood, WoodCreek Reserve will feature 244 homes inspired by the personal residences (yes, that’s plural) of Martha Stewart. Most of the homes have a New England-ish exterior and range from 2,600 to 5,100 square feet (we wonder if any of her personal residences fall within that range). The community also includes a nature trail, lake, and soccer field.

This is the third planned community based on Martha Stewart’s designs, following ones in Atlanta and Raliegh. The interior designs showcased online look identical to what you’d find in the pages of Martha Stewart Living. The exteriors look nice and homey, though we doubt that Martha’s garages protrude from the front of her houses.

Living like Martha Stewart may not be everyone’s dream, but the community is a nice break from the cookie-cutter houses we see in suburbia now. By the way, stock advice from Martha is not included with the house.
