All lanes of the Southwest Freeway in Fort Bend County are shut down today after an 18-wheeler caught on fire and caused a fuel spill, reports the Chronicle. The trailer of the truck struck a wall around 4:30 AM, causing a diesel spill that ranged 50-60 yards of the area, where US-59 meets Grand Parkway.

The driver was able to escape even though the cab of the truck caught fire, and sustained no injuries. The spill was projected to take hours to clean up.
