Now We Know What To Do With That Pesky Million We Have Lying Around....

Local lawyer John O'Quinn, who made millions in tobacco settlements in Texas, had a lovely weekend at Kruse International's annual Labor Day car auction, the Chronicle tells us. He purchased a $500,000 Lamborghini Gallardo signed by such varied celebrities as Samuel L. "Motherf****ing Snakes" Jackson, Paula Abdul, and Regis Philbin. (Does he even count as a celebrity at this point?) Profits from the one-of-a-kind car went to benefit the Child Safety Network, whose mission is "to reduce the likelihood of children becoming victims of abuse, abduction, exploitation and injury".

O'Quinn's purchases in past included $690,000 for a 1975 Ford Escort GL once owned by Pope John Paul II, and this year along with the Lamborghini he purchased for a 1938 Cadillac Town Car used by Pope Pius XII for $250,000 and a 1941 Packard limo used by FDR for $290,000.
The crowning glory, though, at least for us?

The guy bought the Batmobile. No, really. $335,000 made him the proud owner of one of the car used in Batman Forever. Now that's cool.
