Hey, we know what you're doing — you're blowing off work/school/other responsibilities to spend part of your day with Houstonist. And we're glad to have you, really. But have you ever thought about taking it a step farther and actually helping us produce the stuff you read here? If you're into putting off your real-world responsibilities, believe us, we can help you do that.
We're looking for people who love Houston and keep up with what's happening in it, whether it's news, the arts, food, sports, health, business, architecture, politics, education, music, nightlife ... you get the idea. Whatever you're interested in, we can help you share it with literally tens of your fellow Houstonians who read us every day. What do you get out of it? You'll learn more about your city, you'll get to write about what you like, you'll get free drinks (from us) once in a while and you'll be at least 5 percent funnier, more attractive and more popular. Did we mention free drinks?
If it sounds like something you're into, drop us a line and tell us why: write (at) houstonist (dot) com. Also tell us what your interests are and, if you can, attach some kind of writing sample — we'll ask you to do it later, so might as well save yourself a step.
Go ahead and join us. "Work" is so overrated.
