Those sprinkles you're experiencing right now may be the worst of what's left of this morning's rain, forecasters say: The worst rain in the area overnight was north of Houston, and now it's moved off to the east. That's somewhat of a relief, considering that we'd heard talk about flooding today — and don't get us wrong, it could still happen, because there's always the off chance that there'll be a torrential downpour in Houston without any warning — but it's left us wondering something else: Have we been gypped?
We're talking about the fleeting promise of some fall-like weather. At the end of last week, the extended weather forecast showed we would be in lots of sunshine, a low of 63 and a high of 82 tomorrow — but now the forecast has changed and we'll be back to the upper 80s and lower 90s for the rest of the week. Sure, we'll have lower humidity, but that only goes so far. We're still looking for that afternoon high around 80, and we hope you're listening, Big Guy.
On the bright side, it looks like we'll soon have some crisp, fall-like mornings: The low overnight tomorrow is supposed to be 62, and as we've established, that's something to get excited about.
