The sounds of a Muse

060918_muse.jpgMuse’s popularity is just kicking off here in the U.S., while in their home country, the English lads have been reaping the rewards of stardom, including MTV Europe’s Best Alternative Act in 2004 and a Q Magazine award for Best Live Act. You can see if you agree with the Brits tonight at their show at Verizon Wireless.

Musically, Muse can be best described as progressive rock. One Amazon reviewer compared them to “Led Zeppelin, fronted by Beethoven. Matthew Bellamy’s vocals are reminiscent of Thom York’s, but musically, they are a little harder edged than Radiohead.

Compared to the large venues they play in Europe, the Verizon will be a more intimate venue. If their popularity here matches the U.K., this may be your last chance to see them at a smaller concert hall.
